Official: 2012 Kia RAY, available only in South Korea [Update].

Updated with new photos and video.

Kia’s “keicar” codenamedTam” (finally, named RAY) it’s ready to debut in South Korea, and here we have the evidence. To everyone’s surprise, today we can watch the first pics of the exterior complete naked.

Do not forget Kia have plans to launch the smallest keicar Ray in mid-November with a Kappa engine 1.0-liter and 69 hp and four speed automatic gearbox are available too. Which will be sold exclusively in the company’s home market of Korea.

Bypassing its boxy shape that is reminiscent of the Scion xB and Nissan Cube models, one of the highlights of the new Ray is the sliding passenger side rear door that promises to enable easier passenger entry and exit in tight parking spaces, as well as to provide room for bulky cargo. Interestingly, the Ray features a regular rear door on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Kia adds that its new tall city car has a highly versatile interior space for both passengers and cargo.

interesting.. the driver's side rear door is a conventional front hinged one, whereas the one on the other side is a sliding door... i dont understand the advantage of a sliding door on one side vs a normal one on the other. anyone care to explain??
