기아의 '경차' 코드명 “탐”(최종명 레이)이 한국에서 데뷔할 준비를 마쳤으며, 그 증거가 포착됐다. 놀랍게도 오늘 외관 전체가 적나라하게 드러난 첫 사진을 공개한다.
기아는 11월 중순에 1.0리터 카파 엔진(69마력)과 4단 자동변속기를 탑재한 최소형 경차 레이를 출시할 계획이다. 이 차량은 기아의 자국 시장인 한국에서만 판매될 예정이다.
Scion xB나 Nissan Cube를 연상시키는 네모난 디자인을 넘어, 신형 레이의 하이라이트 중 하나는 조수석 측 슬라이딩 리어 도어다. 이 도어는 좁은 주차 공간에서 승객의 승하차를 용이하게 하고 부피가 큰 짐을 실을 수 있는 공간을 제공한다. 흥미롭게도 레이는 운전석 측에는 일반 리어 도어를 적용했다. 기아는 이 새로운 도심형 tall 카가 승객과 화물 모두를 위한 매우 다재다능한 실내 공간을 제공한다고 덧붙였다.

interesting.. the driver's side rear door is a conventional front hinged one, whereas the one on the other side is a sliding door... i dont understand the advantage of a sliding door on one side vs a normal one on the other. anyone care to explain??
