The K3 is the next gen Forte sedan and is based on the Elantra MD platform. The Kia Cee'd is based on the Hyundai i30 and will probably be the next Forte hatchback.

Here is why I don't think the cee'd hatch is the Forte hatch for the USA. Go back 2 years ago. Remember seeing the 2011 Rio hatch on spy shots and a few weeks later a B segment Kia sedan was caughts on spy shots? It was often mistaken as the Rio if you can recall. Now find me some 2011 Rio sedan spy shots....oh I forgot there aren't any. So what does that tell you? How can anyone be 100% sure that a Forte hatch isn't being tested right now? After all someone saw the Rondo and Sedona being tested at Ann Arbor. So that leaves a gap in assuming that the cee'd is the Forte hatch. Also, lets get into a bigger reason why I think Kia is more creative than a rebadged cee'd design for the Forte. Kia has a total of 3 B segment hatches on sales in different countries: Rio hatch, K2 hatch and the Kia Venga. My question is if Kia can come up with 3 hatches on the same platform and look nothing alike, why can't they come up with 2 C segment stylish hatches on the same platform? Just because there are no spy shots of the Forte hatch doesn't mean it doesn't exist. After all, find me 2011 Rio sedan spy shots.

Actually I'm not guessing. Well, it's an educated guess. I've run a Hyundai community for many years and know that the Forte will be based on the Elantra MD platform. The Elantra MD consists of the sedan and new coupe. The Forte sedan and coupe will be based on those. The new Elantra hatchback is based on the i30, not the MD platform and I'd be shocked if Kia doesn't use the same as a basis for their Forte hatch.

About the 2011 Rio sedan spy shots you're right. I never seen those spy shots, instead, I seen a lot of spy shots of the 5-door Rio and K2 Sedan. About the cee'd and the forte, I just send my opinion and I want your opinion, his opinion.....all opinions. At first I think that Kia sold the new Forte/Cee'd as a global model with a few differences, but watching the latest spy shots, and the official pics of the cee'd, I must admit I was wrong! Greetings!

Oh one other thing, based on you guys perspective on the cee'd being the Forte hatch doens't make sense. First of all, looking back at the Rio on spy shots, that hatch looked nothing like the K2. And besides, why would Kia have different interiors for the C segment hatch and sedan? Ever thought of that? Yet the Rio hatch and Rio sedan have the same interiors. The K2 sedan and hatch have the same interiors. So according to y'all if the Cee'd design is the Forte, why would the sedan and hatch have different interiors? The cee'd hatch is not the Forte hatch.

Never said the nothing about the Elantra. I said, I don't believe that the cee'd hatch is a rebadged Forte hatch for the States. I don't give a rats behind if the next Forte is on the Elantra or Cee'd platform. I don't believe the cee'd is a rebadged Forte.

The cee'd and the 2013 K3/Forte share the same steering wheel, but that's when the similarities end with the interior. Personally, I prefer the cee'd interior based on the pictures I've been of both cars.

Yes, the cee'd interior looks better, in these image, the k3's interior looks like a facelifted forte. I'm agree with you about the different sedan version and the 5-door probably will seem to the cee'd.

I don't think the cee'd and Forte are the same. First of all the headlights don't even match. The headlights on the K3/Forte touch the grille but not the cee'ds headlights. The grilles appear different. The K3's grille seems to be more roundish more curved. The cee'd's grille is more like the Kia GT, and Kia KH's. It stand up proudly displaying the Kia signature grille. Interiors are too different. Sure they have the same steering wheel but so what? The current Forte and Soul share the same steering wheel. In other words, not enough infomration of the K3/Forte. But... the tailights on the K3 is different from the Forte's. As for the spy shot of the sedan's interior? How you know that's the
