2012년 3월 뉴욕 오토쇼에서 데뷔할 예정인 올뉴 2013 현대싼타페가 완전히 노출된 채 포착됐다. 2013 싼타페는 '현대의 플루이딕 디자인'에 육각형 크롬 그릴과 LED 헤드라이트를 적용했다. 이 새로운 한국 자동차 제조사의 CUV는 강한 측면 캐릭터 라인과 LED 리어 램프, 트윈 크롬 머플러로 매력적으로 디자인된 후면을 특징으로 한다.
현재 모델은 174마력의 2.4리터 가솔린 엔진과 276마력의 3.5 V6 등 두 가지 가솔린 엔진이 제공되며, 유럽과 한국에서는 197마력의 CRDi 디젤 'R-엔진'이 제공된다. 신형 모델의 경우, 현대는 가솔린 직분사 터보(T-GDi) 2.0 엔진(274마력)이나 신형 CRDi 디젤 유로 6 R-2.0 엔진(150마력) 등 여러 4기통 엔진에서 더 높은 출력을 제공할 것이다..
