Altrough, the refreshed 2013 Genesis Coupe is just announced few days ago, but today we can show you a special interview of the 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Manual transmision with 303 hp. You’re thinking, where is the special thing? Well, in Europe Hyundai never sold the RWD coupe and finally early 2011 the Korean automaker starting her sales around the EU with a special edition. In that case, this unit are 102 of 120 from a “Spain Special Edition” that Hyundai has decide to sell in Spain. At first, 60 units with the 2.0 TCi turbocharged engine (214 hp) and another 60 units with the 3.8 V6 “Lambda I” engine up to 303 hp. Both of engines are only available with a 6 speed manual gearbox.
Recommended prices for Spain are (actually, only have a few units on the dealers and the Korean automaker no plans to sell more units):
- Genesis Coupé 2.0 Sport TCi 214 hp – 29.900 €.
- Genesis Coupé RS3800 V6 303 hp – 35.590 €.
Santi’s Genny had a few differences than the firsts Genesis Coupe sold in America, South Korea and other countries. These differences are we find on the interior, with a dark chromed console (the “original” Genesis Coupe included aluminum inserts on the console and steering wheel).
First Question: Why Hyundai?.
Because I work for Hyundai and when I just saw (at first, I see a 2.0 TCi unit in white) I tell to my boss to request one with the 3.8 V6 engine.
Second Question: Why the Genesis Coupe? Have you previously had a sport model/ which was you previous car?.
The last cars I’ve ever had were the 97-2001 Audi S4, before that, I had an a Peugeot 307 Coupe Cabriolet.
Third Question: Before you buy the Genny, had need to see any other models?.
Some vinyls, calipers and valve cover painted red. Actually i’m working to make my own exhaust line. But my thought (and if available in Spain) is to buy a 2013 Genny 3.8 GDi.
Five Question: What can you tell us about how people react when they see your car?.
Well, from people who ask me, or when I park my car and then I come back, the people making some photos and talking, what car is it? Is a Hyundai?
Six Question: Did your car change your opinion about Hyundai?.
Of course, is another world, not only for the concept of the car, powerful engine, RWD, has nothing to do with Hyundai other cars sold in Spain.
Seven Question: What kinds of forums do you usually visit?.
I don’t frequent many forums, only Forocoches and a spanish Hyundai Forums, and of course The Korean Car Blog.
Eight Question: What is your opinion about the refreshed 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe? Do you want to incorporate those new parts on your Genny?.
Yes, I like a lot. If isn’t possible to buy one here in Spain, I’ll try to put the new front on mine.
