Hyundai and Kia Motors saw their combined U.S. sales reach 110,049 units last month, up 16.1 percent from a year ago. In the U.S. market, Hyundai Motor sold 60,005 units during the month of October, up 19.8 percent year on year, the highest October sales in its history.
Kia Motors America also enjoyed strong sales there last month. It sold 50,044 units, up 12.0 percent year on year. For last month, Hyundai Motor’s per-unit incentive amounted to US$2,408, the third lowest behind Honda’s $2,093 and Subaru’s $591. Kia Motors’ per-unit incentive was $2,826, higher than that of Hyundai Motor.
For the January-October period of this year, the combined U.S. sales of Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors totaled 1,164,219 units, up 6.1 percent from the same period last year.
