Hyundai Sonata Imagined

After we recently caught the first spy pictures of the All-New Hyundai Sonata wearing its final body, today we want to bring you, despite the recent spy pictures (and what we are not allowed to share) has taken in the U.S (check Motor1.com to see that follows what we have shown on the latest pictures below) an accurate render made by our friend Kksstudio.

The story of the next-gen Sonata started just a few months ago, when we have accessed to the pictures, thanks to our good friend at SHM’s Studio, of a mysterious Kia Optima Hybrid, where taking a closer look you will find something strange on its body panels. The car looked like have been refurbished, but we have discovered this body hides the next-generation hybrid Hyundai Sonata, and now we have the first officials pictures while were transporting on a Hyundai Glovis truck.

The stripe on the hood confirmed that this car had a enlarged engine room and the fuel tank is on a new position which means this car is using a new and longer platform, with a wheelbase of 2,845mm (current Sonata LF wheelbase is 2,805mm).

The design of the new Sonata project DN8 is not confirmed, but looking at the pictures we can find a sleeker sedan probably influenced by the design cues of the “Le Fil Rouge” concept car recently launched at Geneva.

Looks like Hyundai is focusing on Eco-cars, while the latest generations of Sonata models received the Hybrid variant a few months later the launch of NA models, with the new generation this won’t happened, and Hyundai plans to have ready the full line-up at the time of launch.

What we can expect in terms of engines and eco friendly? A refurbished Hybrid & Plug-in Hybrid powertrains with a higher powered batteries (with an extended range), more efficient Atkinson cycle engines and even smoother transmissions.
