Hyundai Leonis Small SUV Spied for the First Time

We noticed that Hyundai were working on an small SUV for the US-market, thanks to a consumer survey earlier this year, and now we have the first spy photos of the production version of Leonis, the name that Hyundai had registered, caught testing by SHM Studio.

[ads id=”9″]The given codename for this CUV model is “QX” and recently we received new additional information about this model.

First of all, this model will be smaller than the just released Hyundai Kona, with the dimension of 4,165 L x 1,800 W x 1,550 H or 163.9″ L x 70.8″ W x 61.0″ H and and the wheel base 2600 or 102.3″, this is almost the exact dimension of the new Hyundai Kona.

These are some of the safety features this new model could be equipped with Auto Emergency Brake, Blind Spot Detection, Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assistance Control and of course the side and Curtain Airbags.

On the interior we have an 8″ Display and the Smart Key with Button to start. On the exterior you’ll have the Sunroof, the option of 15″ Alloy wheels or 17″ Alloys wheels as well as the Projection headlights. To keep the trend coming there will be an option for the Two-Tone Roof.

Under the hood we’ll see the 1.6L Naturally Aspirated engine and it’ll married to the starting to be rare in America Continuous Variable Transmission. HMA has mentioned before they are planning to shift to DCT since it performs well and has better advantages.

Currently there has been a rumor that this new model might come to the North American Market and by style of the concept model it could be a KIA Soul competitor, also that Hyundai Motor Group is starting look for an attractive name for this yet another youthful model.
