US-Spec Genesis GV80 to Start Around $50k, Reach $65k

Genesis has taken the wraps off their US-spec first SUV, the GV80, and during the launch event held in Miami, the guys at Car and Driver asked and got some information abouth the prices of the GV80 for the US-market, that according to the magazine will start at $50,000, with the top of the range reaching $65k.

Yong-Woo Lee, vice president of the Genesis division, announced the plan at the GV80 launch event held in KINTEX, Ilsan on the 15th. “We have secured more than 350 Genesis dealerships in the US market last year,” Lee said. “We plan to introduce the GV80 for next month’s Super Bowl. A full-scale new car launch will take place around summer. ”

Genesis plans to expand the product lineup to six over the next year and six months. Following the G70, G80, G90 and GV80, we will add the new GV70 this year and next year’s electric vehicles. In particular, the company plans to expand its scope to global markets such as China and Europe.

The US-spec variant will be available on Summer, with a choice of two gasoline engines that are completely new ones. These are the 2.5 T-GDi Theta II at this time delivering 300 hp and the top of the range will be a 3.5-liter V6 Twin Turbo engines that develops 375 hp.
