Kia Forte K3

During last week, Kia showcased in South Korea the refreshed All-New K3. People start commenting if the Forte will be replaced by the K3 nameplate in the US-market. Well, despite it’s not confirmed (remember the pre-production Carnival with Sedona nameplate and the old logo) we have seen pictures of the refreshed compact sedan on its US-spec and we found still wears Forte nameplate.

Everything we know so far

Kia has completed a more dynamic image by adding a stylish and sporty feel to the existing K3 (also known as Forte and Cerato in overseas markets). The front of The New K3 has a wide-looking image by applying a radiator grill connected to a slim headlight, and a three-dimensional effect through a dynamic chrome garnish from the grill to the headlight.

Along with this, the direction indicators were integrated into the headlights to deliver a concise image, and the daytime running lights that embody the sense of speed emphasized the refined feeling. In addition, through the lower part of the bumper reminiscent of the wing of a fighter, it has a sharp impression.

The rear has a stable and sporty sensibility by adding a three-dimensional effect to the horizontal design, and a design that embodies the sense of speed is applied to the rear lights to give a sense of unity with the front part. Mineral blue, added as a new exterior color, expresses a dynamic feel with bold colors inspired by intense waves.

The interior design of The New K3 is equipped with 10.25-inch large-screen reserved (UVO) navigation and a 10.25-inch cluster to enhance driver visibility and achieve a high-tech image. In addition, by applying a touch switch to the navigation part, a comfortable driving environment centered on the driver was created.

As a new interior color, a high-saturation orange-brown color, which is mainly used in luxury vehicles, was added to create a luxurious yet young image. For customer satisfaction, Kia is equipped with a variety of convenience specifications including advanced driver assistance systems on The New K3.

▲Highway driving assistance (HDA) ▲Lane following assistance (LFA) ▲Navigation-based smart cruise control (NSCC) to improve convenience during driving, ▲front collision avoidance assistance (FCA, cyclist) ▲rear collision avoidance assistance (BCA) ▲Safe Exit Warning (SEW) ▲Driver Attention Warning (DAW) ▲Rear Monitor (RVM) ▲Rear Cross Collision Prevention Assistance (RCCA) was applied to increase safety during driving and parking.

In addition, ▲ electronic parking brake (EPB) and auto hold ▲ remote start smart key ▲ navigation wireless update (OTA) ▲ rear passenger notification (ROA) function has been added to improve user convenience.

A Kia official said, “The new K3, which was unveiled this time, enhanced design completion by emphasizing a sporty and sophisticated image, and applied a large number of the latest safety and convenience specifications that customers prefer. I look forward to it.”
