Genesis Motor Europe will unveil the G70 Shooting Brake for the first time at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021 while its high performance electric grand tourer, the Genesis X Concept, will make its first European appearance at the festival.
The highly anticipated G70 Shooting Brake will be unveiled on the Genesis stand at the iconic British festival by Dominique Boesch, Managing Director of Genesis Motor Europe, and the Duke of Richmond.
As part of its first ever appearance at the show, show goers will be able to discover the first five models in the Genesis European range on the manufacturer’s stand, and on the world-famous hill climb.
The G70 Shooting Brake and Genesis X expands the brand’s already impressive line-up for the festival. Fans can see the recently launched GV80 SUV and G80 saloon and the G70 saloon and GV70 urban SUV join the G70 Shooting Brake on the world-renowned hill climb at Goodwood this year – in the first manufacturer convoy of its kind.
The G70 Shooting Brake, the fifth vehicle in the brand’s growing vehicle lineup for Europe, embodies the award-winning design philosophy of Genesis while honouring the rich history of the Shooting Brake tradition with its iconic design.
The Genesis X, an electric GT concept car, makes its European debut at Festival of Speed following its spectacular global unveil in Los Angeles, USA earlier this year. The vehicle demonstrates a futuristic vision of sustainable luxury through its signature Two Lines design and state-of-the-art technology.
Dominique Boesch, Managing Director for Genesis Motor Europe, commented: “We are thrilled to unveil the G70 Shooting Brake for the very first time as well as marking the European debut of the Genesis X at the world-famous Goodwood Festival of Speed.
“Honouring the region is so important to Genesis, which is why we chose to debut both vehicles at the distinguished British festival. In particular, the G70 Shooting Brake recognises the automotive heritage of Europe in both name and iconic design, unmistakably demonstrating the brand’s commitment to the region”.
On 4 May, Genesis officially announced its plans for the European market with the brand commencing sales later this year, starting with Germany, the UK and Switzerland.
Orders for the G80 saloon, and its GV80 SUV, will open this summer, with the G70 sports saloon and GV70 SUV following soon after. The electrified G80 will soon follow as part of the brand’s lineup of three electric cars to be announced within the year.
