Hyundai’s Chinese joint venture, Beijing Hyundai, officially released today new images of the interior of its new MPV model, the Hyundai Custo.
All-new Hyundai Custo MPV will be Beijing Hyundai’s first MPV model while it’s confirmed that the MPV is also an exclusive model for the Chinese market. Based on Hyundai Motor Group’sthird-generation platform, same as Tucson, Staria or Kia Carnival we can compare the Custo as Kia Carnival’s exclusive twin model in China.
Looking at the front design previewed by the teaser image we can see a cleary inspired Tuscon-like grille, headlights and how the DRL are included in the grille. Above the grille you will see a chromed line that includes “Custo” letters.
On the side, the rear door adopts a side sliding door design while in the rear part of the MPV, the most eye-catching is the through-type taillights, and a big HYUNDAI lettering is surrounded by the light cluster in the centre.
Talking about powertrain options, Hyundai will provide the Custo with two gasoline engines that are already known in the chinese market. The 1.5-liter gasoline T-GDi engine with 170 hp and 2.0-liter gasoline T-GDi with a maximum output of 236 hp. Both engines are matted to a 8-speed automatic transmission.
