G70 Shooting Brake

Genesis has claimed its second major award win in the UK with the G70 Shooting Brake taking the Best Estate at the 2022 UK Car of the Year Awards.

Category winners are voted for by 29 journalists from across the automotive industry in the UK, who drive more than 300 cars a year as part of their rigorous testing program.

This award is the second product win for the brand in Europe, and the first of 2022, marking a huge milestone for both the G70 Shooting Brake and Genesis.

The G70 Shooting Brake, a model that was specifically designed with Europe in mind, was commended for its styling, comfort and technology while the jury felt that it had the ability to “turn heads in the compact exec sector” and was a “stylish alternative to the familiar premium brands”.

“We are very proud to win the award for Best Estate at the UK Car of the Year Awards”, said Andrew Pilkington, Managing Director, Genesis Motor UK.

“G70 Shooting Brake offers not only a distinct and sleek coupe but practicality and comfort with its versatile load space and luxurious interior. Along with it being packed full of intelligent technology and high levels of standard equipment, this is truly a unique offering which we are pleased to see recognised amongst competitors in the segment.”

Pricing for G70 Shooting Brake starts at £35,250 for the 2.0 8AT RWD Petrol and at £37,600 for the 2.2 8AT RWD Diesel.

The G70 Shooting Brake comes with the Genesis Five-Year Care Plan as standard – five years of hassle-free motoring, with no hidden extras including warranty, servicing, roadside assistance, courtesy car, mapping and over-the-air software.

2021 was a busy year for the premium luxury Korean brand with no less than five models making their debut. The G70 Shooting Brake was the last to join the line-up in November.

The first all-electric SUV for Genesis, the GV60, has been confirmed for the UK with two further zero emission powertrains due to arrive later this year, with the eagerly anticipated G80 Electrified and the GV70 Electrified.
