Third generation KIA CEED was revealed for the first time in February 2018 and it already got a facelift back in 2022 but according to the latest spy shots captured by AutoSpy, like Hyundai, KIA is also working on a second facelift for its compact model.
Captured testing in South Korea, the second update for the CEED was spotted heavily camouflaged so it is difficult to see differences. We can’t appreciate big differences compared to the current model as KIA could just started testing some drivetrain changes.
Talking about the powertrain, we don’t expect many changes compared to the currently line-up despite a small fine-tuning to make the engines more efficient and probably adding a higher density battery pack to increase the electric range on the CEED PHEV models. Could KIA add a hybrid option?
As for the inside, looking at the recently released KIA models, we can expect to use a dual curved screen for the infotainment system as well as for the digital cluster. It is difficult to know when KIA plans to release this facelift but we don’t expect it before early 2024 in Europe.
According to the end of the development of combustion engines and for non-electric cars, KIA and Hyundai decided to update their compact vehicles for the Old Continent instead of launching a new generation.
What do you expect for the updated KIA CEED?
