The Kia EV9, brand’s flagship all-electric SUV, has earned a coveted spot in the final round of the 2024 Car of the Year (COTY) in Europe award. Among the 28 new models launched this year, the EV9 has been selected by 59 COTY jurors from 22 countries to be part of the exclusive seven-strong shortlist. The ultimate winner of the COTY award will be revealed on February 26th at the Geneva International Motor Show over 7 candidates.

Built on the dedicated E-GMP platform, similar to the acclaimed Kia EV6, the EV9 stands out as one of the pioneering seven-seater electric vehicles available. Boasting a spacious interior designed for lounge-like comfort, it caters to families seeking ample space for their journeys. With an impressive range capability of covering up to 563km on a single battery charge, the EV9 proves to be an ideal companion for extended family trips.

Equipped with 800V technology, the EV9’s 99.8-kWh battery demonstrates exceptional efficiency. It can charge 249km of range within just 15 minutes, setting a benchmark in its class for quick and efficient charging.

Jason Jeong, President at Kia Europe, expressed pride in the EV9’s achievement, stating, “Today, achieving a spot on the Car of the Year in Europe shortlist for the third consecutive time with the Kia EV9 fills us with pride. Following the success of the award-winning EV6, the 2022 Car of the Year, the EV9 reaffirms our commitment to establishing Kia as a prominent EV brand in the European market.”

The recognition of the Kia EV9 alongside its predecessor, the EV6, demonstrates Kia’s ongoing dedication to innovation and excellence in the electric vehicle domain, reinforcing its position as a frontrunner in the evolving European EV landscape.
