Genesis today unveiled the exterior and interior design of the updated Genesis G80 luxury sedan and a few hours later we can see it its first sightings of the new G80 on its Sport trim captured near company’s R&D Center in South Korea by our colleagues at Healer TV.
Reflecting the Genesis design philosophy of ‘Athletic Elegance,’ the G80 evolved into a more refined design by adding intricate and glamorous details to the existing model.
Emphasizing grandeur, the front features a dual-mesh structure radiator grille. The hallmark of Genesis, the two-line headlamps, has been reborn with MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology, showcasing advanced technology and a perfect blend of design.
The side profile showcases 5 double-spoke 20-inch wheels, exuding dynamism reminiscent of an airplane’s propeller, harmonizing perfectly with the parabolic lines. The rear design incorporates a hidden-type muffler into the rear diffuser, capturing the clean image inspired by the Genesis crest grille’s chrome V-shape design.
The interior of the G80 embodies a fusion of Korean ‘beauty in space’ with a high-tech sensibility, creating a space that offers a multidimensional luxury experience. The G80’s interior presents a sophisticated, advanced space with a horizontal layout emphasizing a comfortable and clean ambiance, integrating the cluster and AVN screen into a single 27-inch wide display.
The 27-inch integrated wide display seamlessly continues into the center fascia, enhancing the high-tech ambiance with a seamless design and touch-type air conditioning controls for improved usability and convenience.
The crystal-designed electronic shift dial (SBW) and Integrated Controller (CCP) not only provide convenient operation but also maximize visual sophistication. Genesis also revealed the ‘G80 Sports Package,’ applying dynamic internal and external elements to maximize sportiness.
The Sports Package features MLA-type LED lamps similar to the G80, along with a ‘Double Layered G-Matrix’ pattern radiator grille and extended air intakes on the crest grille, emphasizing a high-performance vehicle image.
The impactful new bumper and diffuser design in the rear of the G80 Sports Package further enhance its sporty allure. The dark garnish wrapping the lower part accentuates the sportiness of this dynamic sports sedan.
For the interior, the G80 Sports Package adds a ▲D-cut steering wheel and two types of carbon garnish (red/silver) to infuse more sportiness. Both the G80 and G80 Sports Package will be available in a total of 10 exterior colors, including the new ‘Brooklyn Brown,’ and four interior color options.
A Genesis spokesperson stated, “The G80 has received tremendous love since the inception of the Genesis brand. Therefore, with highly refined interior and exterior designs and competitive product quality, we aim to satisfy our customers once again.” Genesis plans to disclose detailed specifications of the G80 upon its release.
