The Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe bring newer and richer content experiences to passengers with new infotainment technologies that support real-time video streaming from Youtube or Netflix and theater-level three-dimensional spatial acoustics thanks to Dolby ATMOS.
Cars are transforming from simple means of transportation to living space. It is to evolve step by step into future mobility that provides a new and richer mobility experience through advanced ICT technology. The infotainment systems of the Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe, which enhance the innovative user experience, are also attracting attention with new technologies that accelerate this trend. This is because the new technology has implemented a rich entertainment experience at the moving theater level.
Key components of the GV80 and GV80 Coupe infotainment systems that enrich the user experience include a 27-inch OLED cluster/navable integrated display (ccIC, connected car Integrated Cockpit), a 14.6-inch rear-seat smart entertainment system, and Dolby Atmos®, a three-dimensional stereo technology. Based on this, GV80 and GV80 Coupe deliver high-definition, high-quality, high-quality video streaming content such as Netflix and YouTube. We looked at new infotainment technologies for the Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe.
Step inside the GV80 and GV80 Coupes and see a wide 27-inch screen, positioned wide at the top of the crashpad. It is a ’27-inch OLED cluster/navity integrated display’ that provides a wide range of visual information and UX using a controller that integrates AVNT (audio, video, navigation), cluster, and HUD, and a wide 27-inch OLED display. Delivers a special user experience that supports up to three functions at the same time: cluster, navigation, and infotainment, as well as the ‘Neon Wide Map’ feature that displays the entire display as a navigation map.
Among other things, the most notable part of the 27-inch OLED cluster/navity integrated display is the new infotainment feature that supports real-time video streaming services. It is a new technology that provides video streaming services in high definition up to 1920×720 by installing native apps such as Netflix and YouTube, which are highly preferred by customers, as standard in infotainment.
Another feature of the 14.6-inch rear-seat smart entertainment system is the HDMI port, which expands the device’s expandability. Thanks to this, you can connect an external device with an HDMI port to watch videos played on your smartphone with a 14.6-inch large-screen and high-quality vehicle speakers, or to hold meetings or work on the go through mirroring. The new infotainment feature that supports video streaming services is also meaningful in terms of in-vehicle software technology development. This is because Hyundai Motor Group has considered future technological advances, such as responding to new application functions and preparing an update process to create an application ecosystem.
If you use a streaming service at the same time in three places: a 27-inch OLED cluster/navation integrated display and a 14.6-inch rear-seat smart entertainment system (left/right), you don’t have to worry about video loss due to data communication issues. This is because the 27-inch OLED cluster/navigation integrated display and the rear-seat smart entertainment system are equipped with separate modems, each equipped to ensure communication safety. Of course, you can use the video streaming service with just a Wi-Fi connection, even if you are not subscribed to Streaming Plus.
In addition to the live video streaming service, there’s one more new infotainment technology that enriches the user experience on the GV80 and GV80 Coupe. The main character is the Dolby Atmos sound technology, which was the first installed in Hyundai Motor Group. Dolby Atmos accurately positions the movement of sound in a three-dimensional space, making immersive sound more vivid and powerful.
