The P1 Prototype: A Glimpse into the Future

As the first vehicle off the assembly line featuring almost complete specifications and finishes, it gives us a tantalizing preview of what the production model will entail. The IONIQ 7, already undergoing rigorous testing on public roads, promises to retain key design elements from the Seven prototype, such as square wheel arches and a distinctive sloping roof profile. These features contribute to its imposing yet futuristic aura, setting it apart in the electric vehicle market.

Sharing key components with the Kia EV9, it may include battery options of 76.1 kWh and 99.8 kWh. Rapid charging capabilities are also expected, potentially charging from 10-80% in just 25 minutes using 350 kW chargers.
Autonomous Driving and Advanced Technologies
In terms of autonomous driving, the IONIQ 7 is poised to feature cutting-edge technologies like remote parking assist and over-the-air software updates, highlighting Hyundai’s commitment to technology and comfort. The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature is particularly noteworthy, allowing users to power external devices using the vehicle’s battery – a testament to the SUV’s practicality and innovation.
Production and Future Plans
Production of the IONIQ 7 is set to begin in July 2024 at Hyundai’s Asan plant in South Korea, with additional manufacturing planned at a new smart factory in Bryan County, Georgia, starting in 2025. This large SUV, expected to be bigger than KIA’s EV9, is a clear indicator of Hyundai’s ambition and vision for the future of electric vehicles.
