Genesis has unveiled an exhilarating new program, the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife, at Germany’s legendary Nürburgring racetrack. This unique offering allows the public to experience passenger rides on one of the world’s most complex and thrilling racetracks.
Official Launch of the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife Program
The program was officially launched on June 18 at a grand event held at the Nürburgring. The launch was graced by prominent figures including Luc Donckerwolke, Genesis Chief Creative Officer; Tyrone Johnson, Head of the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre (HMETC); and racing icon Jacky Ickx, who is also a Genesis Brand Partner.
The Nürburgring, renowned as Germany’s most famous racetrack, is one of the most iconic auto-racing circuits in the world. Spanning over 20.832 kilometers with 73 corners, varying road surfaces, and a 300-meter altitude change, the Nürburgring is known for its technical challenges and thrilling driving experience.
Genesis G70 3.3T: The Star of the Show
To ensure top-notch driving performance and durability, Genesis utilizes the sporty G70 3.3T sedan for the Nordschleife rides. The G70 3.3T is celebrated for its dynamic drivability, cutting-edge technology, and sleek, coupe-like design.
In collaboration with the HMETC in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the G70 has been enhanced with improved suspensions and dampers. Additional brake ducts were installed to channel air from the front bumper to the front wheel arch, ensuring optimal brake cooling. Heat shields on the transmission oil cooling lines prevent overheating under racetrack conditions.
Genesis has partnered with Michelin to equip the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife with MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S tires. These specialized sport tires provide unparalleled performance in all weather conditions, ensuring a safe and thrilling ride.
