The Genesis GV60 Magma Concept, which made its dynamic debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, is now confirmed to enter production by 2025. This announcement marks a significant milestone for Genesis as the GV60 Magma becomes the first model from the brand’s high-performance Magma program to transition from concept to reality.
A Historic Debut at Goodwood
The GV60 Magma Concept captivated audiences at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it was showcased in action for the first time since the high-performance Magma program launched in March. Racing legend and Genesis Brand Partner Jacky Ickx led the debut on the Goodwood hillclimb, drawing significant attention to the brand’s innovative capabilities.
Luc Donckerwolke, Genesis Chief Creative Officer, emphasized the importance of this debut. “We are thrilled to present the global dynamic debut of GV60 Magma Concept at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed,” he said. “The festival’s storied legacy and enthusiastic audience provide an ideal platform to showcase the capabilities of our new Magma program and highlight our strong commitment to high performance.”
Production Timeline and Global Sales
The GV60 Magma is expected to enter production by the third quarter of 2025. Sales are slated to begin in Korea, with a European launch to follow in the fourth quarter. This timeline underscores Genesis’s dedication to bringing high-performance electric vehicles to the market promptly.

Design and Performance Enhancements
Unveiled initially at Genesis House New York on March 25, the GV60 Magma Concept is a testament to Genesis’s commitment to high performance. The model features advanced battery and motor technology, along with meticulous attention to chassis, aerodynamics, and thermodynamics. Its widened and lowered stance enhances stability and provides a lower center of gravity, crucial for sporty driving.
Specialized Features of Magma Models
Production models within the Genesis Magma program will feature unique components designed to enhance sporty driving and comfort. These include a wider and lower body design, exclusive chassis and suspension components, and a Magma-exclusive sound system. A new human-machine interface (HMI) will prioritize essential data, offering an immersive driving experience.
Each Magma vehicle will embody three fundamental attributes:
1. Unspoken Dominance: Instantly commanding respect with dynamic design and power.
2. Captivating Control: Seamlessly blending power and precision for a comfortable driving experience.
3. Sharpened Immersion: Offering a multi-sensory journey with luxurious materials and exclusive sounds.
