Hyundai Motor Company has officially launched the 2025 IONIQ 5 N on Tuesday, October 24th. This upgraded model of the high-performance electric vehicle integrates advanced electrification technology and introduces new features based on customer feedback, enhancing both performance and convenience.

Enhanced N Drift Optimizer for Superior Drifting Experience

The 2025 IONIQ 5 N comes with a more refined N Drift Optimizer, designed to assist drivers in achieving smoother drift driving. Hyundai has improved the vehicle signal monitoring logic, which assesses drift conditions based on factors like vehicle behavior and road surface changes. The drift control stages have been subdivided into 10 levels, allowing drivers to select a drift assist level that matches their driving skills.

In particular, the 10th level (PRO mode) minimizes Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and adjusts drive torque linearly, providing skilled drivers with an environment to perform drift driving more freely.

Upgraded N e-Shift with New Functions

Hyundai N has enhanced the IONIQ 5 N’s virtual shifting system, N e-Shift, by adding Down Shift Memory and Downhill Assist functions.

Down Shift Memory: During circuit driving, if a shift operation is made before decelerating within the allowable RPM for downshifting, the vehicle stores the command and executes the shift when the RPM reaches the allowable level.

Downhill Assist: Similar to engine braking in internal combustion engine cars, this feature prevents the vehicle from accelerating excessively when descending slopes after downshifting, ensuring stable driving.

Additionally, the N e-Shift function is now available in Eco mode, alongside the existing Normal, Sport, and N modes, allowing drivers to enjoy the shifting experience across all driving modes.

Enhanced Sound Experience with N Launch Control

The N Launch Control function has been modified to always produce the launch control ready sound, even if the virtual sound system N Active Sound Plus (NAS+) is turned off. This change actively conveys the emotional appeal of a high-performance car.

Additional Convenience Features

The 2025 IONIQ 5 N now includes several standard features to enhance passenger convenience:

Intelligent Front-lighting System (IFS): Actively adjusts high beams to improve forward visibility while preventing glare for oncoming drivers.

Walk-Away Lock: Automatically locks the doors when the smart key holder moves a certain distance away from the vehicle.

Interior Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): Allows powering electronic devices using the vehicle’s battery.

Vibrating Warning Steering Wheel: Provides tactile alerts for added safety.

Second-row Safety Windows: Enhances safety for rear-seat passengers.

Pricing and Availability

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N is available in a single trim, priced at 77 million won (US $57,690 – 51,931 Euro) after eco-friendly vehicle tax benefits. The actual purchase price may be lower depending on government and local subsidies.

Hyundai’s Commitment to Driving Pleasure

A Hyundai Motor Company representative stated, “The newly launched IONIQ 5 N has enhanced product value by adding features that reflect our customers’ voices. Hyundai will continue to strive to provide driving pleasure and emotion based on advanced electrification technology and motorsport experience.”

With the launch of the 2025 IONIQ 5 N, Hyundai continues to push the boundaries of high-performance electric vehicles, offering advanced features and a driving experience that caters to both enthusiasts and everyday drivers.
