2025 EV6

Kia has unveiled the refreshed 2025 EV6 at the Los Angeles International Auto Show, building on the success of its award-winning predecessor. The updated electric crossover brings new styling elements, upgraded features, and enhanced performance options to solidify its position in the competitive EV market.

Introduced nearly three years ago, the Kia EV6 has earned industry accolades, including the title of 2023 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year. With this latest iteration, Kia aims to continue its momentum by offering customers a more refined and innovative driving experience.

A Modernized Design

The 2025 EV6 adopts subtle but impactful design updates that align with Kia’s latest styling direction while maintaining its unique identity.

At the front, the EV6 now features Kia’s signature Star Map lighting design, which shapes the new headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs). Sharper angles on the front bumper and newly defined character lines on the hood enhance its sporty appeal.

The rear design incorporates three-dimensional Star Map taillights, while the wide, wing-like shape of the rear bumper ties the front and rear aesthetics together. On the sides, updated cladding and sharper side sill moldings create a more dynamic stance. The refreshed EV6 also comes with redesigned wheels, available in 19- to 21-inch sizes depending on the trim level.

Inside, the EV6 boasts a spacious and driver-focused cabin. A curved dual 12.3-inch display integrates the instrument cluster and center infotainment screen, offering an immersive high-tech experience. Inspired by the EV9, the 2025 EV6 also features Star Map interior lighting, a sleek center console, and a sporty D-shaped steering wheel.

The vehicle’s dimensions have been subtly adjusted, with an overall length increase of 0.6 inches and a longer front overhang, creating a sportier profile.

Performance and Range

Kia has enhanced the EV6’s performance capabilities with new powertrain and battery options to meet the growing demand for range and versatility.

  • Battery and Powertrain Options:
  • The standard 63.0 kWh battery delivers 167 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • The optional 84.0 kWh battery offers up to 319 miles of all-electric range in the Light Long Range, Wind, and GT-Line trims with rear-wheel drive. This setup generates 225 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • All-wheel-drive models provide a more powerful configuration, delivering 320 horsepower and 446 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • The high-performance GT trim now offers 601 horsepower and 545 lb.-ft. of torque, with GT mode boosting output to 641 horsepower for a thrilling driving experience.
  • Charging Efficiency:

The EV6 retains its ultra-fast 800-volt DC charging system, allowing drivers to recharge quickly. The charging port (excluding GT models) has been relocated to the left rear fender and is now compatible with the North American Charging Standard.

Kia has also enhanced ride quality with improved steering response and additional sound insulation materials for a quieter cabin. For adventurous drivers, the EV6’s long-range models with the 84.0 kWh battery boast an increased towing capacity of 2,700 pounds.

Advanced Technology

The 2025 EV6 comes equipped with Kia’s next-generation Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system, featuring faster processing speeds and support for over-the-air (OTA) updates. These updates allow the vehicle to stay current with advancements in powertrain, navigation, and safety systems.

Additional technology features include:

  • Digital Key 2.0: This system allows drivers to use compatible smartphones or NFC-enabled cards as virtual keys to lock, unlock, and start the vehicle.
  • Enhanced Parking Assistance: The EV6 includes advanced systems like Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, along with automatic flush door handles.
  • In-Car Entertainment: With the Kia Connect Store, the EV6 offers new digital features, including streaming services, gaming, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The 2025 EV6 includes a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), with several new features for improved safety:

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 now supports Junction Turning and Junction Crossing.
  • Highway Driving Assist 2 helps maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, stay within lane markers, and assist with lane changes under certain conditions.

Availability

The 2025 Kia EV6 will be assembled in the United States at Kia’s Georgia plant, alongside the EV9. It will be available in five trims: Light, Light Long Range, Wind, GT-Line, and GT, with configurations including rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

The refreshed EV6 is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2024, continuing Kia’s tradition of delivering innovative and forward-thinking electric vehicles.
