Hyundai Hope On Wheels, a nonprofit organization committed to helping kids fight cancer, rang the NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell this morning at the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York’s Times Square. The event honored Hyundai Motor America’s 16th year in the fight against pediatric cancer. Chairman of the Hyundai Hope On Wheels Board of Directors Mickey Pong was joined by the organization’s newly named National Youth Ambassadors Ashley Burnette and Kenny Thomas in ringing the Opening Bell.
“We are honored to commemorate our 16th year in the fight against pediatric cancer at the NASDAQ MarketSite,” said Mickey Pong. “Hyundai and all of us dealers are committed to ending pediatric cancer and we appreciate NASDAQ for lending its platform to this important cause.”
On Thursday, April 17, Hope On Wheels will officially launch its 2014 program during a special press conference at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. As part of the event, recipients of 2014 Hope On Wheels grants from the New York City area will be recognized and all other recipients will be announced. By the end of this year, Hyundai Hope On Wheels will surpass $86 million in support of pediatric cancer research since 1998.
When we review the New Genesis, we mention Hyundai was the first automaker bringing Android to their AVN system, making things easier for their owner to interact with the Genesis.
Based on Hyundai design principles, they are now bringing Apple CarPlay to the brand new 2015 Hyundai Sonata. Now all iPhone users with the models 5s, 5c and 5 running the latest version of iOS 7 will be able to experience features such as the ability to make calls, use Maps, listen to music and access messages as well as Siri functions thanks to a button on the steering wheel.
Hyundai is now joining the steps of luxury car manufactures such as Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar and Ferrari making the system available among all car owners who can’t afford those luxurious brands.
Kia Racing scored its first win of the 2014 Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) season today on the streets of Long Beach, Calif. With more than 200 team members from Kia’s nearby U.S. headquarters cheering them on, drivers Nic Jönsson and Mark Wilkins took first and third in round two of the 16-race season, the “Roar by the Shore Presented by Kia.” Jönsson moves into first place in the GTS-Class Drivers Championship, while Wilkins sits fifth. Kia moves up to second in the Manufacturers points standing, ahead of Chevrolet and Porsche.
As you guys already know, I was invited by Hyundai to test drive their new 2015 Hyundai Genesis. I flew to Scottsdale, Arizona this past weekend and stayed at the Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa with about 20 other bloggers to test drive the Genesis.
