Hyundai Palisade Hybrid

Hyundai Motor Company latest addition to its lineup, the All-New Palisade Hybrid, is set to combine robust performance with enhanced fuel efficiency. According to the Korea Energy Agency, the Palisade Hybrid’s combined fuel consumption ranges between 11.4 km/l and 14.1 km/l, depending on the trim and wheel size.

Fuel Economy

When converted, these figures equate to approximately 26.8 to 33.2 miles per gallon (mpg). Specifically, the front-wheel-drive model with 18-inch wheels achieves a combined fuel economy of 14.1 km/l (33.2 mpg), with city driving at 14.5 km/l (34.1 mpg) and highway driving at 13.6 km/l (32.0 mpg). Opting for larger wheels slightly reduces efficiency: the 20-inch wheels yield 12.7 km/l (29.9 mpg) combined, while the 21-inch wheels offer 12.5 km/l (29.4 mpg). All-wheel-drive variants have combined fuel economies ranging from 11.4 km/l to 12.7 km/l (26.8 to 29.9 mpg), influenced by wheel size.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Palisade Hybrid features Hyundai’s next-generation hybrid system. This setup includes a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an electric motor and a 1.65 kWh high-voltage lithium-ion battery. Combined, they deliver a total output of 329 horsepower. The powertrain is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, with options for both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. This marks a significant enhancement over the previous 2.2-liter diesel and 2.5-liter gasoline turbo engines, offering improved performance and efficiency.

Advanced Technologies

The Palisade Hybrid is equipped with specialized driving technologies that utilize the electric motor, including e-Ride, e-Handling, e-EHA (Electrically Evasive Handling Assist), and e-DTVC (Electric Assisted Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control). Additionally, it offers EV-specific convenience features powered by the high-voltage battery, such as indoor Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability and Stay Mode. These innovations enhance driving dynamics and provide added convenience for users.

Market Availability

Hyundai plans to launch the Palisade Hybrid in the second quarter of 2025. Given its impressive specifications and competitive pricing, the vehicle is poised to make a significant impact in the hybrid SUV market, appealing to drivers who prioritize both performance and environmental responsibility.

Note: Fuel economy figures are based on the Korean certification system and may vary in other regions. Currency conversions are approximate and subject to fluctuation.
