At the end of 2014, we were talking about that Kia will showcase a new design way for sedans on the third generation Optima. Today we can share with you a several new spy shots of the car spotted in China with a T-GDi engine under the hood.
[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:9px;”]Since launched in 2010, the K5 (also called Optima in overseas markets) was a total hit for Kia. With an amazing design, the Optima surprised everyone and increased Kia brand image around the world. As we said yesterday, now Kia have a very difficult task to improve K5 design without becoming a bit bored.
Again, at the 2013 New York AutoShow, Kia design team improved the vehicle’s front and rear ends and the brand’s signature “Tiger-Nose” grille, and included “ice-cubed” LED lights like in the pro_cee’d GT. The K5 was originally designed by Peter Schreyer.
To fight with the recently launched Hyundai Sonata and its success in South Korea,(currently Sonata LF orders surpases 22,000 units) Kia has been rescheduled the launch of the second generation K5 and will debut in August. Kia will launch forward on the South Korean market to try to rise sales of the K-series models.
With a redesigned greenhouse, and the Kia GT confirmed, and the GT concept’s greenhouse was a lot like the current Optma’s, it makes me wonder, if the the Kia GT also has some differances to it as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Kia GT already been out for testing btw. I think it just hasn’t been caught on spy shots yet. I also think the redesigned Cadenza has been out too.
