Yesterday, I published two new spy photos of the new Santa Fe in our Facebook’s page. Today, and according to Motor Trend site, the south korean automaker has confirmed make its world premiere at the 2012 New York Auto Show this April.

Also probably be renamed to ix45 in certain markets including Europe and Australia, will sport Hyundai’s more dramatic styling language while it’s also expected to be more tech-savvy with its interior following the example of the Veloster or i40.

Motor Trend believes the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe will continue on with the same powertrain options found in the current vehicle, which means buyers can look forward to a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine or a 3.5-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. We are thinking about to include the known engines, but most current, used in other models of the Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group, like the Sonata, or the Optima.

Those engines are the 2.4 GDi with 201 hp and the 2.0 Turbo GDi with 274 hp. For the european markets, will be shaped around diesel engines, like the new Euro-6 “R-Engine” aluminum 2.0-liter CRDi with 150 hp, and the 2.0 CRDi (also R-Engine) but 184 hp used in the ix35 or Sportage. The current, second generation model was introduced the North American International Auto Show in 2006 having received a mild facelift in 2010. See the latest spyshots!
