Hyundai’s Juke-rival B-Segment SUV has been caught testing in Europe. Based on the next-gen Hyundai i20 B-segment car, the SUV version is expected to debut at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show starts April 20, and today we show latest spy shots with completely undisguised interior.
[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:5px;”]The ix25 (this could be the final name for the European market) is inspired on Hyundai’s Curb Concept showed at the 2011 NAIAS, and probably will be available with AWD. This mini SUV will be positioned under the Tucson/ix35 C-Segment SUV. The ix25 is expected to have a wheelbase of around 2,570 mm, two petrol engines (Gamma MPi engines 1.4 and 1.6 with 90 and 126 hp, a 2.0 MPi will be top-spec variant) and two diesel CRDi engines 1.4 and 1.6 with 90 and 110 hp.
Kia will have his own version of this SUV with a different design. Kia variant is expected to debut in 2015. Looking inside, we can see a Hyundai’s latest models inspired design, with big center console including Audio System with standart USB/iPod connection, single automatic air conditioning controls, steering wheel mounted audio controls and Bluetooth hands free.
Few weeks ago, HMA CEO Dave Zuchowski told reporters the brand had failed to take advantage of the country’s hunger for SUVs, with just a two per cent share of the nation’s truck segment that includes crossovers, SUVs and pick-ups. Hyundai Motor America boss admits the brand needs a third SUV and has highlighted the burgeoning sub-compact crossover market as a priority.
