About the hybrid system, this will use a 1.7-liter gasoline engine and electric motor powertrain. The Kia officials hinted it would achieve a high efficiency fuel economy of 22km/l with an improved hybrid system and less body weight.

Kia decided to develop this because domestic market preferences on German diesel models is expected to gradually fall out in favor of Hybrid models.

Their own analysis, said that import diesel cars demand will fall around 30% due to large fuel economy and significantly increase satisfaction, comfort and durability of hybrid cars.

Kia has a rapidly growing of eco-friendly car in domestic market and with introduction of a hybrid-only model in the SUV segment, will compete directly with japanese and german Hybrid-SUVs.
