Hyundai Motor Group held a kick off meeting of the year 2015 earlier this Month, where its chairman Chung Mong-Koo encouraged employees to achieve annual sales of 8.2 million units this year and to prepare for the era of 9 million sales.

Chung Mong-Koo said, “Despite difficult domestic business conditions, we achieved 8 million sales last year by expanding overseas investment. We should go all-out to take a new leap forward and solidify our presence in the global markets.”

He also added, “What matters most to secure future competitiveness is how to secure innovation technologies. We should place more focus on developing new cars, improving fuel efficiency and removing customer inconvenience.”

Chung stressed, “We have increased our sales centering on compact cars. However, if our annual capacity grows up to 9 million units, we could increase the share oflarge sedans.”
