Hyundai Motor’s high-end brand Genesis is showing signs of bit hit. Hyundai Motor released the EQ900 (a follow-up model of Equus) as the first Genesis-branded model. On the first day of its preorder sales, the EQ900 recorded four times higher orders than those for the previous Equus model.

Hyundai Motor announced on November 24 that the number of preorders for the EQ900 placed during a single day of the 23rd reached 4,342 units, a 270-percent increase compared to the second-generation Equus model’s first-day preorder volume of 1,180 units and a 30-percent increase compared to the second-generation Genesis’ 3,331 units.
A Hyundai Motor official said, “It is unbelievable that the preorder volume for the EQ900, the highest-end sedan in Korea, reached more than 4,000 in just one day. Its magnificent and refined external look, plus elegant interior design are drawing good reviews from domestic consumers.”
