Hunting season is now open! Today we have a pair of camouflage cars, Hyundai Accent and the Kia Niro. both lonely cars parked at an empty parking lot.
[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:9px;”]Let’s begin with the Hyundai Accent, this new model will be its Fifth Generation since the facelift came out back in 2014. Hyundai is hoping to pick up some of sales lost last year since the facelift. Back in 2014 the Accent sold 63,309 units and in 2015 sold 61,486 units. This still some healthy numbers since back in 2013 they only sold 60,458 units.
We can expect the exterior design to be more like the All-New Elantra, with a more smooth contoured lines to help with the aerodynamics of the car. We find the same Hyundai’s hexagonal signature grill. Also a new headlight design but its unclear if there is a projector inside but more than likely there will be a version with one HID projector and lets not forget about the sunroof on this model.
[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:9px;”]On the back is very well disguide but we can tell it has a very similar design on the taillights from newer models, a long tailight just like the all-new Elantra, which similar to the new Genesis sedan when it came out. This has become a very popular design for Hyundai since models like the Tucson and Sonata already has them too.
We dont know what engine this new accent will come with, but we can expect the same 1.6 Liter engine. This time Hyundai might surprise use with the 1.4L Turbo engine, so we’ll keep an eye for it.
Next is the Kia Niro, This is Kia approach to compete with the Prius but in a bigger size. The size of this model will fit between the Soul and Sportage. This will be a hybrid model that will help Kia Motors move towards the hybrid segment, one that a lot of manufactures are running towards.
[ads id=”0″ style=”float:left;padding:9px;”]After the Optima hybrid, this will be Kia motors second attempt to populate this hybrid line up. We are expecting Kia to reveal this model at the Chicago Autoshow this month.
As far as powertrain, we know the Niro will share the same specifications as the Hyundai Ioniq so we are expecting the 1.6 Liter engine together with the 6 speed transmission engine. We dont know the price for this model yet but as soon as we get more details from Chicago Autoshow well be sure to update.
