What we know so far?

The successor of Avante is expected to secure merchandise at the level of midsize cars through a larger body along with next-generation design that will follow what they have done with the Sonata.

The Avante follow-up extends from 4620mm in the current Avante to 4655mm like Kia’s Forte. In addition to the 1.6 smartstream gasoline, a new 1.2 Turbo GDi and 1.6 CVVD Turbo GDi engines will be available. In particular, the Avante will add a hybrid model and a high-performance N-line, that will have the mentioned 1.6 Turbo engine with the new 8-speed DCT transmission.

These are the measures of the new Elantra. 4,650mm x 1,810mm x 1,415mm with a wheelbase of 2,720mm.

The rear design will have connected tailights, but with a more regular design (on the spy pictures we can see a similar look to new Optima tailights) despite de different design of the Sonata.

Despite that looks like Hyundai is focused on SUVs, on a recent interview, Hyundai Executive said will continue launching sedans with the same formula as the new Sonata, which has turned out to be a success.
