Our reader Alex sent this pictures of the Kia Sorento spotted at Kia America HQ in Irvine, CA showing the new Kia logo. After Kia released its 2022 Kia Sorento in South Korea back in July, we expect the same changes to carryover into the US line-up.

All the base Sorento now comes with LED interior lights (map lamps, room lamps, luggage lamps), which was formerly an option. In the Premium trim, advanced driver assistance systems are now standard, like the Front Collision Prevention assistance or Smart cruise control (stop & restart) is applied to enhance the product safety. In addition to the Signature trim, a navigation-based smart cruise control (safety section of highway/vehicle road/curved road), a highway driving assistance function are now applied as standard.
In addition, ‘Gravity’ trim, which applied differentiated design elements to the Signature, the top trim of the Sorento, was expanded to diesel engine models to broaden the choice of customers. The Sorento Gravity created a stronger image by applying the main exterior points in black color, including 20-inch black alloy wheels and voluminous gravity-only leather seats.
Kia has strengthened Sorento’s marketability by adding convenience and safety specifications compared to the previous model, while setting a reasonable price to increase its attractiveness.
Following the launch of The 2022 Sorento, Kia will operate a digital campaign from the middle of this month. It plans to form a consensus with customers through commercial promotional videos that reflect the characteristics of drivers for each diesel, gasoline, and hybrid engine.
Meanwhile, Kia’s representative mid-size SUV Sorento is consistently loved by customers based on its excellent product quality and price competitiveness. A total of 11,776 units were sold for 15 months from the launch of the 4th generation model in March 2020 until May, and a total of 76,883 units (excluding the 3rd generation Sorento) were sold last year, achieving No.
A Kia official said, “The Sorento will continue to lead the market by providing product characteristics that befit the No. 1 mid-size SUV brand. We plan to release more in July.”
