Today we want to share with you a new set of spy pictures of the future Kia Telluride facelift. Thanks to our colleagues at AutoSpy we can now take a closer look to the prototype of the updated large SUV spied on the road.

What we know so far?

After Kia just released the 2022 Model Year of the Telluride in the U.S-market today we can share the very first pictures of the facelift model. The 2022MY received Kia brand new corporate identity and updated trims and standard equipment.

The Kia Telluride is probably Kia’s more succesful model in the U.S. Named as World Car of the Year in 2020 and Kia America’s best selling SUV, the Telluride is a total success. But there’s more, during this year we have seen how Telluride’s demand made some customer to pay over $18,000 markup in order to get one right-away.

Telluride’s popularity is evidenced by its awards. This is because the company achieved triple crowns in the North American market by dominating 2020 North American Car of the Year, Motor Trend SUV of the Year 2020, and Car & Driver 2020 10 Best. In particular, North America’s Car of the Year added meaning in that it was the first award of Kia Motors.

As of June, Kia already delivered a total of 45,438 Telluride’s in the U.S. If you compared to 2019 Full Year data, Kia sold a total of 58,604 units, so that’s impressive. So now looks like Kia is already on initial stages of development of the mid-cycle facelift as we can see in this pictures caught in South Korea.

The company plans to strengthen its succesful SUV line-up with an updated image, but at the same time, will be very careful about changes and as you can see in the video, the changes are small just in order to keep a fresh image. What you can easy perceive from the pictures is that now the headlighs had to vertical rectangles inside while keeps the original design.

The front bumper is new as well as the rear one, that remains me the one in the All-New Sportage Gravity. Also you can appreciate that the rear taillights maintains the shape but also updated the design, now looks like background is painted on glossy black. It is too early to talk about powertrain updates, so we will inform you as soon as we have any new information.
