The KIA EV9 will be Kia’s future all-electric full-size SUV, which is set to debut sometime in 2023. The last week we showed you up the very first spy photos of the EV9 prototype with production body courtesy of our colleagues at ShortsCar. Now we have first in detail pictures that allow us to see it in & out, as well as proportions.

What we know so far?

Starting from 2023, Kia plans to launch two or more electric vehicles every year, including the EV9, and build a full EV lineup of 14 models by 2027. While they shared first details back on earlier this month, now we have more details.

Among other future models such as dedicated electric pickup truck or up to three economical electric vehicles, in the nearest future Kia will launch two SUVs, the EV7 and the EV9.

Kia expects that the EV9, a flagship electric vehicle, will once again prove its world-class competitiveness in electric vehicles following the EV6, which swept favorable reviews in advanced markets, such as being selected as the ‘2022 European Car of the Year’.

First look inside the KIA EV9

Check the updated list and specifications of the future Kia EV9:

A total length of 5 meters, despite Kia announced a maximum driving range of about 540km with possibility of having 100km driving range with only 6 minutes of charge and an excellent performance compared to the size of the car (0 to 100km/h in 5 seconds), at the end of the day and according to our sources the final range will not exceed 500km (300 miles).

What is going to be remarkable is the interior space. According to the information we have got access, while the 2nd and 3rd seat positions will be same compared to the Kia Carnival, thanks to E-GMP, the 3rd passenger seat will be more spacious and pleasant that a regular ICE 7-seater SUV. The first prototype has a 6-seater configuration.

For the first time in Kia models, over-the-air software update (OTA) for controllers and Feature on Demand (FoD) services that allow customers to selectively purchase software functions will also be applied to implement electric vehicles as smart devices.

In addition, it is planning to apply advanced autonomous driving technology, including Highway Driving Pilot (HDP), a third-level autonomous driving technology, and some convenience features like the Magic Roof, an improved interior space configuration or ultra-wide display.
