We already discovered that Hyundai will kill the Veloster N from the U.S. market from 2023. Now, our colleagues at SB-Medien captured this mysterious prototype of a Veloster N with a side porting charge, aerowheels and some added weight in the rear axle, compatible with a battery pack and we are lost.
So it’s all the more surprising that we’ve currently caught an all-new Hyundai Veloster N hybrid, although the car is supposed to be discontinued.
Will this prototype ever make it into series production? At least the development of this vehicle with high-voltage technology has come a long way, at least “Fahrzeug mit Hochvolttechnik” can be read on the sticker in the side window.

The prototype has a specially developed wheel design, which are currently not available on the Veloster N. The left-hand air intake in the side panel also has a special design. The left air intake in the front has been modified and provides more cooling.
Particularly striking is the second fuel filler cap on the driver’s side, which is integrated into the bodywork. This plug-in lid is not just provisionally attached, but already finished into the bodywork. While the fuel filler cap is round, the plug-in cap is square.
Will there be a future for the Hyundai Veloster N after all?
VIs quite conceivable that Hyundai will surprise its N enthusiasts with a Veloster N plug-in hybrid after all. In any case, a lot of money and time would have been invested in the development of such a near-production prototype for nothing.
This prototype also has aerowheels
