We spied the next electric model from Kia, the EV4, testing in Europe for the first time by our colleagues at CarPIX. And as we can see it looks like a shrunken Kia EV9 design wise and now our colleagues at NY Mammoth created a rendering based on the latest spy shots. What do you think?
This prototype is already looking rather production ready under that camouflage and also has what looks like production wheels. The EV4 will be positioned below the recently revealed EV5 and according to our sources its said to keep it’s price under $30.000.
Rumors has it that the EV4 will get a 400V tech instead in order to keep the price down. Same rumors also say the EV5 models for China will also get the 400V system but also that the EV5 will hit other markets but then with the 800V set-up.
It is still unknown if this model used the E-GMP platform or the new “eM“. As a possible budget electric car (remember it has the same size as a Seltos but with a longer wheelbase) we bow down for E-GMP, but maybe with a 400V system like the EV5 and LFP (lithium iron phosphate battery) to keep the price under $25,000.
These are the very first spy shots of an expected SUV that should arrive sometime in 2024 and could rival Tesla Model 2 and Volkswagen ID.2all under $30,000 cars.
For now these are all unconfirmed rumors so we will have to wait and se. The debut for the Kia EV4 could come as soon as the end of this year but more likely in the first quarter of 2024.
