Hyundai Motor launched the model year 2024 IONIQ 6 in South Korea and will go on sale tomorrow, September 8th. The 2024 IONIQ 6 includes several updates as optional equipment that are now standard and also has a cut on the price in order to make it more attractive against other overseas manufacturers.
Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. has applied to the entry trim of IONIQ 6, called “Exclusive” as standard the 2nd warning steering wheel, the second-row safety power window, the rain sensor, and the electronic room mirror (ECM), while in the top trim called “Prestige”, now the BOSE premium sound has been standardized to enhance the product.
In addition, to celebrate the first anniversary of the launch of the IONIQ 6, the South Korean carmaker will launch the ‘1st Anniversary Package’ that combines two customer-like choices by trim at an economical price to maximize value for money.
The ‘1st Anniversary Package I’, which can be selected from the exclusive trim, integrates the ‘Hyundai SmartSense’, which consists of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as Highway Driving Assistance 2 (HDA2), and the ‘Convinience’ option, which consists of convenience specifications such as the Hi-Pass system and smartphone wireless charging system.
The ‘1st Anniversary Package II’, which can be selected from the Exclusive Plus trim, incorporates ‘Parking Assist’, which improves parking convenience, such as a surround view monitor and a remote smart parking assistant 2, and a ‘Comfort Plus’ option that adds comfort, such as a passenger electric-powered seat and driver’s seat memory system.
Hyundai has improved the usability of the V2L function that provides available time through clusters or infotainment displays when V2L functions are utilized inside and outside the vehicle, relieving customers’ anxiety about over-power consumption while supporting active battery management.
In addition, Hyundai restructured the 2024 IONIQ 6 Exclusive Plus trim with the customer’s best specification, reducing the selling price by 700,000 won ($600) to meet the customer’s needs while lowering the purchase burden. The other trim froze the price despite the standardization of the preferred specifications, raising the overall product competitiveness compared to the 2023′ IONIQ 6.
The IONIQ 6, which was released last year, has received worldwide acclaim and customer love, winning the ‘2023 World Car of the Year (WCOTY)’ based on the world’s best electricity consumption efficiency and various safety and convenience specifications based on the streamlined streamliner style.
In particular, IONIQ 6 has a variety of lighting technologies throughout the vehicle, from welcome writing that welcome the driver inside and outside the vehicle to dual-color ambient mood lamps that interact with the driver and react, providing a new travel experience to passengers.
An official from Hyundai Motor Company said, “I am very pleased that the excellent product quality of the IONIQ 6 is recognized worldwide. I am not satisfied with this and will develop the core capabilities of electric vehicles with the goal of becoming a leader in the electric vehicle market.”
