The 2027 Kia Telluride has already made its official debut at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show, revealing its new turbo hybrid powertrain, expanded interior space, and elevated premium design. Shortly after its reveal, our colleagues at KindelAuto captured the rugged Telluride X-Pro in the wild in California, giving an early real-world look at the most off-road-capable model in the lineup.

As Kia’s flagship three-row SUV, the second-generation Telluride builds on one of the brand’s most successful models to date, introducing more refinement, more power, and a bolder presence on and off the road.

Stronger Design Presence With a More Aerodynamic Exterior

Now officially unveiled, the 2027 Telluride features a longer wheelbase, a stretched body, and redesigned surfacing inspired by Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. Its new vertical headlamps, broader hood, triangular fender creases, and flush door handles contribute to a more modern, streamlined profile.

Key exterior updates include:

  • Flush door handles for a cleaner appearance
  • A lower drag coefficient of 0.30
  • X-Line’s exclusive 21-inch wheels
  • X-Pro’s 9.1 inches of ground clearance and all-terrain tires

The X-Pro prototype spotted in California aligns with the production model showcased at the LA Auto Show, confirming the increased suspension articulation, tougher wheel setup, and reinforced off-road components.

Premium Interior With Expanded Space and Modern Technology

Inside, the 2027 Telluride presents a more spacious and premium cabin. A curved dual-display layout dominates the dash, while refined materials, wood-inspired accents, and hidden door handles elevate the atmosphere.

Interior features include:

  • Dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays
  • Available relaxation seats with power leg rests
  • Ergo Motion driver’s seat with massage
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Dual wireless charging pads
  • Heated and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs
  • Available heated third-row seats
  • USB-C ports across all three rows

The SUV’s expanded dimensions result in more legroom in the second and third rows, while cargo capacity increases to 86.9 cubic feet.

New Tech With AI Voice Assistant and Integrated Streaming

Kia’s latest ccNC operating system brings faster performance and OTA updates, while an onboard generative AI voice assistant responds to “Hey Kia” for natural conversational commands.

Notable technology features include:

  • Optional 14-speaker Meridian audio system
  • Digital Key 2.0
  • Full Display digital rear-view mirror (SXP)
  • 12-inch head-up display
  • Integrated apps including Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube
  • Optional Disney and NBA UI themes
  • myQ Connected Garage compatibility

More Power and Better Efficiency With the New Hybrid

The hybrid model also includes Stay Mode, which uses the battery to power climate control and entertainment for about 20 minutes with the engine off.

X-Pro Model: Real Off-Road Capability Confirmed

These features make the X-Pro the most capable Telluride yet, both in its official debut and in real-world testing.
