Kia unveiled the exterior design of ‘The New Carnival’ for the first time at the end of October and now it’s time to see when it will be revealed in the United States. With the LA Auto Show around the corner, Kia just showcased the facelifted Sorento but did not mentioned about the Carnival. Now we can see the US-spec spied by our colleagues at ShortsCar.
The New Carnival has an exterior that blends refined sophistication and SUV-like toughness with the concept of ‘Modern Boldness’ based on Kia’s brand design philosophy ‘Opposites United’.
The front features vertical headlamps and ‘ signature star map lighting’ daytime running lights (DRL) to create a futuristic image and a grand feel with a radiator grille accented with luxurious details.
This is a simple yet refined design with a bumper and a sleekly trimmed bottom skid plate to complete the sleek and presence of the front design.
The side is a vertical headlamp and rear combination lamp that harmoniously follows a straight line of character lines, creating a sense of balance and applying a redesigned alloy wheels to emphasize a firm and strong feel.
The rear part moves the position of the license plate downward and eliminates the exposed steering wheel to achieve a wide and clean tailgate, and the ‘Star Map Rear Combination Lamp’ connected to the left and right adds a sense of luxury while giving the front and a sense of unity.
It also creates a more robust image through the blend of the bottom of the bumper with black cladding and a wide skid plate.
Gravity, a design-specific trim, has a dedicated radiator grille and wheels, and maximizes a strong yet luxurious feel by applying dark metallic colors to ▲roofrack ▲C filler, tailgate, anddoor Ganishi ▲front and back skid plates.
The New Carnival operates six exterior colors, including ivory silver, ▲Snow White Pearl ▲Astra Blue ▲Aurora Black Pearl ▲Platera Metal ▲Ceramic Silver.
For customers who prefer hybrid models, Kia will add a 1.6 turbo hybrid model to The New Carnival to operate a three-powertrain lineup, including gasoline, diesel and hybrids.
“Carnival is a model that has long maintained the status of an unrivaled family car based on its unique merchantability for family customers,” said a Kia official. “We plan to release detailed information and prices on the merchantability of The New Carnival in time of the pre-contract next month.”
