Today we want to share with you the a new rendering of the updated Genesis G80 made by our colleagues at NYMammoth, based on the latest spy pictures, showing a similar design compared to the recently release GV80 and GV80 Coupe models, what do you think about the design?.
The updated Genesis G80 was captured heavily camouflaged so it is difficult to see differences. We cannot appreciate any bigger differences that affects any part of the design as this is probably in an early stage of development but we already known what it will change.
While keeping both front and back quad lamps from the previous model, it will have a new multi LED pixel lamps in the front (similar to we have seen in the G90) and an updated grille will keep it fresh. The rear of the new car is expected to have a more dynamic look in the bottom bumper design, along with a larger lamp than before.
Talking about the powertrain, we don’t expect many changes compared to the currently line-up despite a small fine-tuning and adding the 3.5-liter engine with the electric supercharger. It is unknown whether the diesel engine will carry on or will be discontinued.
As for the inside, looking at the spy video you will see a new widescreen that probably will be the same confirmed to its SUV brother, the GV80, that will premiere a 27-inch OLED display. You can bet Genesis will apply some updates to the interior as well as the latest safety and tech features including on demand features.
Will take the risk Genesis to add Autonomous Level 3 in the G80? It is difficult to know when Genesis plans to release this facelift but we don’t expect it before Summer 2024 in South Korea, with European and US-spec models arriving by end of 2024.
Despite the world is no longer facing a semiconductor shortage, Genesis like other HMG brands is still struggling to delivery some of its line-up so it is difficult to predict if these schedules will be fulfilled.
