Based on a report from Motorsjason, Kia is back on track developing a new high-performance electric vehicle, the Kia GT1, which is set to become the brand’s new halo car and serve as the replacement for the popular Kia Stinger. This grand tourer is expected to be larger than its predecessor and built on the new EM platform, which standardizes core components to allow for a variety of vehicle sizes.

Key Features and Performance

The new Kia GT1 (internal codename) is rumored to be a powerhouse, with a dual-motor model projected to produce 603 horsepower. This immense power is expected to propel the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in the 3-second range. The car is also rumored to feature a large 113.2 kWh battery pack, with a target range of around 800 kilometers on a single charge. The vehicle is likely to utilize a cell-to-body structure, where the battery is integrated directly into the chassis for enhanced rigidity and a lower seating position.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the Kia GT1 is anticipated to offer a spacious interior and a next-generation operating system that allows users to download various apps. There is speculation that it could also feature a rollable screen similar to the one seen in the Genesis GV90 concept car, which could expand up to 30 inches. The GT1 is also expected to support Level 2.5 AI-based autonomous driving.

Release and Pricing

The Kia GT1 is anticipated to be released in 2027. Pricing is estimated to start around 60 million Korean Won (approximately €36,964 or $43,152 USD), with the high-performance 600 horsepower model expected to be priced around 80 million Korean Won (approximately €49,286 or $57,537 USD).
