Hyundai unveils its 2030 electrification roadmap with over 18 hybrid models, the new IONIQ 3 for Europe, India’s first Hyundai EV, a groundbreaking Extended Range EVs with 600-mile (960 km) range and a mid-size pickup truck for the North American market before 2030.

Hyundai’s Bold Electrification Target

By 2030, Hyundai Motor plans to sell 3.3 million electrified vehicles, representing 60% of its total global sales. This aggressive roadmap includes hybrids, battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), and Extended Range EVs (EREVs), ensuring customers worldwide have a wide range of clean mobility options.

Expanding the Hybrid Portfolio

Hyundai will roll out more than 18 hybrid models by 2030, powered by next-generation hybrid technology.

  • Hyundai Palisade Hybrid will debut with TMED-II technology, offering greater efficiency and improved performance.
  • Genesis luxury hybrids will be introduced starting in 2026, merging efficiency with premium driving dynamics.

This expanded hybrid lineup will cater to customers seeking a balance of efficiency, affordability, and performance.

IONIQ 3: Hyundai’s New Mass-Market EV for Europe

Hyundai is doubling down on region-specific EVs, beginning with the highly anticipated IONIQ 3 for Europe. Designed for mass-market accessibility, it will feature next-generation infotainment and advanced SDV technology.

Key Highlights:

  • Compact design tailored for European urban drivers.
  • Seamless integration with Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect infotainment system.
  • Positioned below the IONIQ 5 to capture entry-level EV buyers.

First India-Built Hyundai EV

In India, Hyundai will launch the country’s first EV developed locally. The model will be supported by a domestic supply chain, strengthening Hyundai’s long-term commitment to one of the world’s fastest-growing EV markets.

This move not only boosts affordability but also aligns with India’s government-led EV adoption goals.

Hyundai in China: Elexio SUV and New Electric Sedan

For China, Hyundai announced two localized EV models:

  • Hyundai Elexio SUV – a region-exclusive EV SUV.
  • C-segment electric sedan – tailored to urban consumers seeking affordable electrification.

These models underscore Hyundai’s commitment to building locally designed EVs for China, the world’s largest EV market.

Extended Range EVs: Over 600 Miles of Driving

Hyundai’s most ambitious EV innovation is the Extended Range EV (EREV), set to launch in 2027.

What Sets Hyundai’s EREV Apart?

  • 600+ miles (960 km) range with optimized battery-engine integration.
  • Uses in-house high-performance batteries and motors.
  • Provides a full EV driving experience with less than half the typical battery size.
  • Eliminates range anxiety while keeping costs lower than large-battery EVs.

This innovation makes Hyundai one of the first automakers to bridge the gap between hybrids and full EVs with an affordable long-range solution.

Pickup Trucks & Commercial EVs

Hyundai is expanding beyond passenger cars:

  • New mid-size pickup truck coming to North America before 2030, targeting the heart of the U.S. truck market.
