Genesis Magma Racing has taken a significant step toward to compete in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) by investing in a state-of-the-art Dynisma DMG-360XY simulator. The high-performance simulator will be central to the development of the GMR-001 Hypercar, underscoring the team’s ambitions to be immediately competitive in the prestigious endurance racing series.
Dynisma DMG-360XY Simulator: A Game-Changer for Hypercar Development
The team’s acquisition of the Dynisma DMG-360XY reflects a strategic commitment to advanced simulation technology in motorsport engineering. Known for its high stiffness, ultra-low latency, high bandwidth, and unlimited yaw capability, the DMG-360XY offers a hyper-realistic driving experience. This advanced simulator will play a crucial role in validating key systems in the GMR-001, including the hybrid powertrain, MGU (motor generator unit), brakes, and tire modeling.
“Simulator work is key in developing a new car, and with the Dynisma DMG-360XY, we are working with the best in the business,” said François-Xavier Demaison, Technical Director at Genesis Magma Racing.
Drivers Andre Lotterer and Pipo Derani Lead Early Simulator Sessions
Veteran drivers Andre Lotterer and Luis “Pipo” Derani, both confirmed for the 2026 season, have begun early development work on the simulator at Dynisma’s UK headquarters.
“It feels like driving the real car,” said Lotterer. “The feedback is immediate and natural, letting us focus on genuine performance gains rather than adapting to the tool.”
Derani added, “We’re currently focused on validating the car’s systems. The simulator gives us exactly what we need and will be essential to the GMR-001’s development and race preparation.”

Simulator Integration and Future Race Preparation
Genesis Magma Racing plans to install a DMG-360XY simulator at its Le Castellet base in France in early 2026. This permanent installation will serve as a hub for race preparation, driver training, and vehicle development between limited on-track test sessions.
“The simulator is going to be an important tool when you’re limited in testing,” Demaison noted. “It gives us the ability to develop the GMR-001 quickly and efficiently while staying within WEC’s strict testing regulations.”
A Bold Statement of Intent for the 2026 WEC Season
Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul emphasized the importance of leveraging every advantage to prepare for the competitive 2026 WEC grid.
“The purchase of a Dynisma DMG-360XY gives our engineers and drivers a significant head start,” Abiteboul said. “It demonstrates our serious commitment to becoming a front-running team in the World Endurance Championship.”
Conclusion
The investment in Dynisma’s cutting-edge simulation technology positions Genesis Magma Racing as a serious contender in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship. With the GMR-001 Hypercar in development and top-tier drivers already in the simulator, the team is laying a solid foundation for both engineering excellence and race-day performance.
