While a few days ago we have seen an early prototypes of the new Elantra N version near their European test center courtesy of SB-Medien, today and thanks to our colleagues at AutoPost we can share new pictures of another prototype caught in South Korea with new wheels (could be production?) and test-purposes exhaust pipes.

What we know so far?

After a year of hiatus, Hyundai N-performance brand is back and despite what they initially said and what they did with the Sonata (making N-line instead of N) we have discovered that Hyundai is already working on high-performance variant of its new mid-size sedan.

The 7th generation Avante CN7 (domestic name of Elantra in South Korea) will finally have both, N-Line and N variants. While we thought we only will see a N-line variant, like what happened with the Sonata DN8, a new report says N-line will replace former Avante Sport.

The new N-Line model will have the sporty exterior design but not the driving performance of the N model and the upcoming Avante N will be a real N with a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine, instead of a 1.6 Turbo and not just a N in shape.

Will be equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine that delivers a maximum output of 275 horsepower and a maximum torque of 36 kg.m, the same as Veloster N or i30 N, and is expected to be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 8-speed DCT.

The Avante N is a full-fledged four-door sedan and is expected to be a versatile, high-performance model that can be used as a daily car for everyday use and fun driving on the circuit on weekends, according to Albert Biermann, Hyundai Motor Group Head of R&D.

The camouflaged prototype shows Veloster N alloy wheels, combined with Performance Blue paint, characteristic of N models, alongside of two big exhaust pipes.
