Hyundai Staria electric

Hyundai is continuing its aggressive push toward electrification, confirming plans to unveil its first-ever Staria electric vehicle in early 2026. The world premiere will take place at the Brussels Motor Show, scheduled from 9 to 18 January, where Hyundai will showcase what it describes as its largest electric vehicle to date.

Industry sources and early indications suggest that the teased model will be the Hyundai Staria Electric, marking the full-electric evolution of the brand’s futuristic MPV. The upcoming EV is allegedly equipped with a massive 99 kWh battery, positioning it as a long-range, high-capacity electric vehicle aimed at both family and commercial users.

Hyundai Staria Electric: Brand’s Biggest EV Yet

Hyundai has confirmed that the upcoming electric model will supplement its existing EV lineup, which currently spans from the compact Hyundai INSTER to the flagship IONIQ 9. With the Staria Electric, Hyundai is expected to fill a crucial gap in the electric MPV and people-mover segment. The Staria Electric is rumored to feature:

  • An approximately 99 kWh battery pack
  • Hyundai’s advanced 800-volt charging architecture
  • Significantly faster DC fast-charging capabilities
  • A focus on long-distance efficiency and interior space

If confirmed, the 99 kWh battery would place the Staria Electric among the largest-capacity EVs in Hyundai’s global portfolio, making it suitable for both private buyers and fleet operators transitioning to zero-emission mobility.

Advanced 800-Volt Charging Technology Confirmed

Hyundai has officially stated that the new EV will debut with state-of-the-art electric technology, including an 800-volt charging system. This architecture, already seen on models like the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, allows for:

  • Ultra-fast DC charging
  • Improved thermal efficiency
  • Reduced charging times on high-power chargers

For a large vehicle like the Staria Electric, this technology will be crucial in maintaining practicality despite the vehicle’s size and battery capacity.

Hyundai Press Conference at Brussels Motor Show 2026

During the Brussels Motor Show, Hyundai will host a dedicated press conference led by Raf Van Nuffel, Vice President of Product at Hyundai Motor Europe. Commenting on the importance of the event, Van Nuffel said:

“The Brussels Motor Show continues to be an important platform for us to highlight how our electric products and technologies are evolving for European customers. As the region accelerates its transition to zero-emission mobility, events like this allow us to showcase not only new models, but also the innovations that will shape the next generation of Hyundai vehicles.”
