Kia unveiled the design of The New Kia Ray, a product improvement model of the former Ray, a model that is exclusive for the South Korean market and currently only available with an all-electric powertrain.

The New Kia Ray is inspired by ‘Joy for Reason’, one of the four attributes of Kia’s design philosophy ‘Opposites United’, and has a more sophisticated and sensual image.

In the front part, ‘Star Map Signature Lighting‘ and a neatly processed center garnish (center decoration) are arranged horizontally to create an extended ‘Tiger Face’.

The flat and angled bumper design creates a harmonious contrast with the volume of the body surrounding the wheel, completing Rayman’s unique design. In addition, a skid plate (lower body protection plate) applied to the lower part of the bumper adds a more refined and solid feel.

The side part emphasizes its presence with the geometrically shaped 15-inch alloy wheel that harmonizes with various lines. In the rear part, a futuristic design rear combination lamp is applied to the body with a three-dimensional effect.

Starmap signature lighting located on the edge of the rear combination lamp visually expands the vehicle width. In addition, a clean impression was given by applying a non-exposed tailgate handle, and a sense of unity with the front was created with the rear bumper design that gives a strong feeling.

In the interior, a new 4.2-inch LCD cluster design was applied and a ‘light gray interior’ was added to add a modern image. A Kia official said, “The New Kia Ray, which was born with a new look after five years, and will lead the compact car market anew.” he said.
