Kia India has officially launched the all-new Carens Clavis, a more premium and feature-rich variant of the Carens, designed to bridge the gap between MPV practicality and SUV style. With luxury-focused upgrades, advanced safety technologies, and a refreshed design, the Carens Clavis enters the Indian automotive market targeting a new segment of family buyers and tech-savvy customers.
Updated Design with EV5 Vibes
The Kia Carens Clavis boasts an elevated design language over the standard Carens. At the front, it features LED headlights with a digital tiger face, integrated LED DRLs with turn indicators, and a diamond-finished grille. The rear is just as striking with LED taillights connected by a full-width light bar, a chrome-finished skid plate, and a sporty rear spoiler.
Adding to the road presence are 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, replacing the Carens’ 16-inch ones. Buyers can also choose from a broader palette of colors—eight more than the Carens, offering greater personalization.

New Interior and Tech-Forward Features
Inside, the Clavis offers a navy and beige two-tone interior scheme with artificial leather upholstery that enhances the premium feel. The dashboard is highlighted by a dual-display setup: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system. Both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are supported.
New additions like a D-cut steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, and power-adjustable driver’s seat set the Clavis apart from its sibling. Seating flexibility is offered in six- and seven-seater configurations, with enhanced comfort through features like ‘Boss Mode’ for the front passenger and one-touch second-row seat folding.
Performance and Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the Clavis retains the same engine lineup as the Carens:
- 1.5L NA Petrol (115 hp)
- 1.5L Turbo Petrol (160 hp) – now with an added 6-speed manual transmission
- 1.5L Diesel (116 hp)
Driving modes and paddle shifters are also carried over from the Carens, ensuring a familiar yet refined driving experience.
Segment-Leading Safety with Level 2 ADAS
A standout feature of the Carens Clavis is its Level 2 ADAS suite, comprising 20 advanced driver-assistance functions, including:
- Forward Collision Avoidance
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Smart Cruise Control
- Blind Spot Collision Avoidance
Standard safety features include six airbags, ABS, hill start assist, and electronic stability control, ensuring robust occupant protection.

Enhanced Convenience Features
Kia has further upgraded the convenience features in the Clavis. These include:
- Rear door spot lighting
- Folding rear-seat table
- Electronic parking brake
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Theft alarm system
- Auto-dimming IRVM
These additions make the Clavis not just more luxurious, but also better suited for family travel and long road trips.
