현대자동차가 어제 7세대 엘란트라 및 엘란트라 하이브리드(국내명 아반떼)를 공개한 가운데, 이번 렌더링 이미지를 통해 확인된 현대 N 퍼포먼스 브랜드 엘란트라가 어떤 모습일지 살펴볼 시간이다.
지금까지 알려진 내용은 무엇일까?
1년의 공백 끝에 현대 N 퍼포먼스 브랜드가 돌아왔다. 초기 발언과 쏘나타(N 대신 N라인)에서의 행보와 달리, 현대차는 이미 새로운 중형 세단의 고성능 버전을 개발 중인 것으로 확인됐다.
7세대 아반떼 CN7(국내명 엘란트라)은 마침내 N라인과 N 두 가지 변형을 모두 갖추게 된다. 쏘나타 DN8에서처럼 N라인만 나올 것이라는 예상과 달리, 새로운 보고서에 따르면 N라인이 기존 아반떼 스포트를 대체할 것이라고 한다.
새로운 N라인 모델은 스포티한 외관 디자인을 갖추지만 N 모델의 주행 성능은 갖추지 않을 예정이며, 곧 출시될 아반떼 N은 1.6 터보가 아닌 2.0리터 가솔린 터보 엔진을 탑재한 진정한 N 모델이 될 것이다.
2.0리터 가솔린 터보 엔진이 탑재되어 최고 출력 275마력, 최대 토크 36kg.m를 발휘하며, 이는 벨로스터 N이나 i30 N과 동일한 수치다. 6단 수동 변속기와 8단 DCT가 조합될 것으로 예상된다.
아반떼 N은 본격적인 4도어 세단으로, 현대자동차그룹 연구개발본부장 알버트 비어만에 따르면 일상적인 주행과 주말 서킷에서의 즐거운 드라이빙을 모두 만족시킬 수 있는 다재다능한 고성능 모델이 될 것으로 기대된다.

With Acura about to release a potential 450hp TLX Type S sedan, VW new 400hp Arteon R, a possible 400hp STI, the new Supra, the Infiniti Red-Sport cars, the Civic Type R, and other things, If Korea is going to do something, they need to do it a little hotter than what they are doing now. Hyundai (not genesis) needs a RWD based AWD coupe and sedan combo with a 430hp 3.5L Hybrid Twin Turbo V6 setup with a longitudinal based engine layout and name the TIburon and Azera. The Tiburon should return larger than what is was before based on the same chassis as the Kia Stinger/G70/G80 with the N-Performance version featuring the 430hp 3.5L Hybrid Twin Turbo V6 with the Hybrid part coming from the new Getrag Dual Clutch Electric Hybrid Transmission, an E-LSD, a high performance AWD system, Brembo brakes, N-performance aerodynamic upgrades such as under body air panels and diffusers, specific N-performance wheels, larger rear duckbill spoiler with gurney flap, vortex generators, front lip spoiler, performance oriented interior with comfortable Recaro seating, alcantara steering wheel, comfortable 2+2 seating, etc. The car should be around the size of a sonata but with two doors instead of four.
