기아, '소울스터' 양산 최종 평가 중

3년 전, 기아는 소울스터 컨셉트 컨버터블 트럭을 2009 디트로이트 모터쇼에서 선보였다. 당시 기아는 이 차의 양산 버전을 고려한다는 소문을 부추겼지만, 끝내 후속 조치를 취하지 않았다. 바로 오늘까지 그랬다.

예상치 못하게, 다음 주 시카고 오토쇼에서 데뷔할 트랙스터 컨셉트에 관한 보도자료에서 기아는 소울스터 컨버터블이 "현재 양산을 위한 최종 평가 중"이라고 발표했다.

한국 자동차 제조사는 더 이상 자세히 설명하지 않았지만, 승인이 떨어지면 소울스터가 곧 시장에 나올 것으로 예상된다. 원래 컨셉트는 4인승의 컨버터블과 픽업이 결합된 2도어 모델이다.

더 낮고 공격적인 자세를 위해 짧아진 앞유리와 탑승자 보호를 위한 롤바 위에 위치한 탈착식 2피스 루프를 갖췄다. 양산형은 5도어 소울과 동일한 엔진 라인업(2개의 GDi 엔진)을 사용할 가능성이 크다.

I was wondering what ever happened on this.... Good to hear it hadn't died yet and is still a possibility. With all the domestics either enlarging their mid-sized pickups or abandoning them entirely, something small and fun like this could be a hit.
